My last concert in 2018, "Jammin 4 A Heart Beat" was a fundraiser for my precious daughter, Trinese Robinson.
Trinese, a young widow, loving mother of four children and author of three books, was a five- time breast cancer survivor. The purpose of this concert, was to raise money to help pay for her treatment and bills.
This concert was a very emotional one for me. I had to muster up the strength, courage and focus to perform with a heart that was breaking with every moment. As usual, my children and grandchildren were there helping me with this event. Trinese was so appreciative, grateful and so hopeful.
I honestly didn't know, how I would get through this event and be able to sing. But, the support I received from the Creator, my band, family, friends was truly amazing! Many of my students from Alameda Recreation & Parks donated and attended.
My wonderful band, lovingly donated their pay for that event, to my daughter. There were many wonderful people who donated that night! Without a doubt my daughter, myself and my family were truly Blessed! There was so much love in the building. I will always cherish that event and all those who made it a success.
Sadly, on September 11, 2019, at the age of 45, my precious daughter lost her fight with cancer and passed. To honor Trinese, I sang at her funeral. It was a song I wrote for my children, "No One Can Take the Place of You". Trinese left behind a legacy of love and creativity.
Thank you, my band of Earth Angels!
